Packed to the brim with thought provoking material for hopeful writers. Not just wishy-washy “trust your gut” or “show don’t tell” kind of stuff, though it is in there with a healthy dose of caveat. Sound, reasonable methods (with examples) for aspiring and working writers though I do wonder how much the publishing landscape has changed even in the past 5 years relative to when this was originally published in the early aughts. Also a considerable amount of memoir/bio for King fans.
Definitely will revisit certain sections: -Latter half of “C.V.” -Skim “On Writing” for examples -“Door Shut, Door Open” -Postscript reading lists. More recent editions have updated booklists from subsequent decades.
